What is the condition of the injured soldiers in Artsakh? The Ministry of Defense responds to a parliamentarian
On October 14, the Artsakh Defense Army reported that the Azerbaijani armed forces opened fire on one of the PBA's combat positions, resulting in gunshot wounds to six soldiers. This was announced by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the National Assembly’s “I Have Honor” faction, on his Facebook page.
“Following this incident, advisors to the President of Artsakh provided a statement indicating that the strike was executed via UAV. Therefore, it turns out that the injuries were caused not by gunfire but rather by shrapnel from a UAV missile,” he noted.
“One day after the incident, according to the PBA, Azerbaijani military units also opened fire in the direction of a PBA ambulance that was on the front lines at that time. Due to conflicting reports surrounding the incident, I formally addressed the Ministry of Defense. My questions were as follows:
- Please provide the names of the six injured soldiers and separately detail their health conditions.
- What type of injuries did the six PBA soldiers actually sustain—gunshot wounds or shrapnel wounds?
- Were there any injuries or damage to individuals as a result of the stricken ambulance incident?
The Minister of Defense responded in writing that Albert Sarukhanyan's condition is serious, Khachik Gevorgyan's is moderate, Kajik Arshakyan's is satisfactory, Hrayr Hakobyan's is serious, Edgar Hovakimyan's is satisfactory, and Lernik Chakhifalakyan's is serious. We wish good health to our soldiers.
The Ministry of Defense also informed that one of the six soldiers suffered gunshot wounds while five sustained shrapnel injuries. Concerning the ambulance that was hit during those days, the Ministry noted that only the vehicle was damaged, and no individuals inside were harmed.
