Number of People Moving from Armenia to Russia in the First Seven Months of 2021 Revealed

By the end of 2021, a record increase in the number of immigrants in Russia was recorded, reaching 398,000 people. This figure stems from the forecasts of the Russian government, which has doubled the pace of migration growth. Recently, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs claimed there are 7 million immigrants in Russia, the vast majority of whom are legal, according to MK.ru.

In 2021, Armenia was among the top three countries for the number of immigrants to Russia. From January to July 2021, 20,000 immigrants arrived in Russia from Armenia. Tajikistan ranked first with 38,000 immigrants, followed by Ukraine with 26,000.

It is noted that the actual number of immigrants in Russia may exceed 10 million, which accounts for about 8% of the country's population.
