Discussions Underway on a Number of Issues Related to New Restrictions
According to the daily newspaper "Fact", in recent days, dubious information has been circulating on social media platforms suggesting that vaccinations may soon become paid. Such information has spread rapidly and caused panic among the public.
"Fact" newspaper contacted the Ministry of Health of Armenia to inquire about the likelihood of such measures. Health Minister's press secretary Hripsime Khachatryan stated, "Vaccinations continue to be provided free of charge to citizens of the RA; nothing has changed in our policy in this regard." At the same time, Khachatryan confirmed that discussions are underway regarding the imposition of certain new restrictions in the near future.
"A 'package' is being developed for visits to public places where a large number of people gather, such as restaurants, concerts, etc., specifically allowing entry only with a negative PCR test or a vaccination QR code. The frequency of PCR testing is also being discussed, with a consideration to reduce it from 14 days to 10 days or even one week," the press secretary of the Ministry of Health disclosed, adding that discussions are also taking place about making treatment for citizens infected with the coronavirus but unvaccinated after December 1 a paid service.
