Already Meta: Facebook's New Name Revealed

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has announced that the social network will be renamed Meta. The decision has already been made, and the new brand will be launched on Thursday.

"We are now called Meta," said Mark Zuckerberg during the annual Facebook Connect conference. He also presented the company’s new logo.

Although Zuckerberg has stated that the name change is to associate the platform more with the "metaverse," it is believed that the renaming is connected to the endless string of scandals that Facebook has recently found itself embroiled in.
