100 Bodies and Remains of Soldiers Still Unburied in the Yerevan Mortuary

A year after the war, 100 bodies and remains of fallen soldiers remain unburied in the morgue of Metsamor. The genetic testing codes are written on polyethylene bags containing the bodies. Most of these remains have been identified, meaning it is clear who they are, with names and surnames available.

The parents are known, but they refuse to take the bodies or remains for burial. Sergey Abgaryan, head of the regional department of the Forensic Medicine Center in Armavir, stated in an interview with Azatutyun that the main reason is the lack of trust in the results of DNA testing, or, in cases where the remains were found on the battlefield, they are waiting for other parts of the soldier's remains to be located.
