VIDEO: You don’t know the answers, nor the admission number, so let’s talk. Pashinyan to the opposition
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today in the National Assembly that the country is on the brink of war, a report that has been reiterated frequently: "For instance, after the non-signing of the Kazan document in 2011 and after I became prime minister in 2018, such reports have been made periodically; there has been information that Azerbaijan is preparing for war. There has been a statement from this podium by Serzh Sargsyan saying that we should expect war at any moment," he said.
Pashinyan noted that when Armenia is in a perfectly peaceful state, news comes in that war is possible, and all red lights go on. "When war is a possibility, and statements are constantly being made that the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh will be resolved through military means, information about the war becomes something akin to routine news," Pashinyan added.
According to him, there have always been reports every day that war is possible. He mentioned that the previous government excluded Artsakh from the negotiation table. "When you say that 72 percent of Artsakh is occupied, I apologize, but that 72 percent was a subject of negotiation during your time in office, you knew about it, why didn’t you raise your voice?" Pashinyan remarked.
He stated that the price for stopping the war was agreeing to return all territories. "If you are now saying that 72 percent is occupied, then from 1998 to 2016, you were negotiating the surrender of 72 percent of the homeland. Enough is enough, right? A conspiracy, conspiracy," he said, addressing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation.
Nikol Pashinyan invited the opposition to talk. "Brother, let’s talk, who has refused to talk? I would gladly sit down and talk," the Prime Minister announced.
Pashinyan assured that a completely different conversation would take place with a completely different tone. "I invite both opposition factions in their entirety," he said.
