Traffic temporarily halted in one section of Upper Lars

Georgia has temporarily closed traffic in one of the areas near Upper Lars. This was reported by Sputnik Georgia, citing the Georgian Department of Highways.

The widespread announcement states that traffic is temporarily restricted due to the installation of a drilling transfer mechanism necessary for the construction of a 9 km long tunnel.

According to the department, the section of the Mtskheta-Stepantsminda-Lars road from Kvesheti to Kobi will be closed from 01:00 on October 27 until 04:00 on the same day.

It is noted that the construction of the tunnel on the Georgian-Military Road will allow not only Georgian but also Armenian carriers to reach the Upper Lars crossing without being held up on the road.
