This is Called Budget Robbery: Manukyan Discusses Single-Person Purchases
The government that previously criticized corruption and single-person purchases has made unprecedented cases of single-person purchases in the last three years. This statement was made by Gegham Manukyan, a member of the ‘Armenia’ faction in the National Assembly.
Manukyan presented a study highlighting the increase in single-person purchases as stated by various ministries. ‘When media outlets sent inquiries to understand why single-person purchases were made for certain events, the justification was that time was needed to announce a competition. The government carries out single-person purchases when something must be done quickly; however, it often conducts single-person purchases for events that were known 1-2 years in advance. Why was a single-person purchase made for the celebration of September 21 in 2019, and the same for 2020? How is it possible for a company established just a few weeks prior to receive 43 million drams?’ Manukyan emphasized, stating that this is called budget robbery.
