We Have One Path: Seyran Ohanyan Issues a Statement
The head of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly and former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Twenty-two years have passed since the crime that took place in the Armenian National Assembly on October 27, 1999. That terrorist act interrupted the lives and national activities of the most influential and authoritative military-political figures in modern Armenian history and was aimed not only personally at them but also delivered a blow to the stability and reputation of our state, intending to change the balance of political forces.
However, our people, who only years ago managed to celebrate a glorious victory by building an army and a state while forcing peace upon the adversary, withstood that challenge as wisely and strongly as ever, by straightening their back and preventing that tragedy from undermining the foundations of our independence and sovereignty.
Today we stand before equally dangerous challenges. The overt "Turkic" aspirations against the sovereign territories of Artsakh and Armenia have once again become a threat to our state. And we have one path, one choice: by believing in the strength of our genes and relying on the strength of our arm, we must form a national resistance and, restoring dignified relationships with our strategic allies, save our Homeland from external and internal enemies' assaults."
