Never before have there been armed guards in the Armenian Parliament. KNP officers fondly remember the past: 'Hraparak'

According to the newspaper 'Hraparak', there was yet another incident in the National Assembly yesterday. Gegham Manukyan of the ARF, referring to Vigen Khachatryan of the CP, stated from the podium that anyone who forgets Artsakh is a traitor. The deputy speaker of the National Assembly, Ruben Rubinyan, decided to 'go gangster' and ordered the microphone of Manukyan to be turned off while instructing security personnel to remove him from the podium. Two officers from the National Police Force (PPU) entered the room, grabbed Manukyan by the arms, and dragged him outside. This government has made it a habit to involve the PPU in the workings of the National Assembly. Never before have there been armed guards in the Armenian Parliament, especially not for removing lawmakers from the chamber for making speeches. The officers serving in the National Assembly are also dissatisfied, recalling with nostalgia the past when they did not receive such orders and lamenting that it is not part of their duties to silence or remove a lawmaker speaking from the podium.
