Who thought that a holiday could be taken away from a person? Have you noticed that our people work too much? - Nazaryan

Who thought that a holiday could be taken away from a person? During the discussion of the proposal to reduce New Year's non-working holidays, Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, posed this question to the Minister of Economy.

"You said that all of this is done so that our people work. Have you noticed that our people work too much, even though they do not receive corresponding income? Our people do not have rest; compared to European countries, where they go on vacation twice a year and engage in leisure activities, in our case, the New Year's holidays were an opportunity to at least relax and gather with family," said Gegham Nazaryan.

"Every time, you talk about economic activity and vibrancy, but your proposal is leading to dissatisfaction among many entrepreneurs who organize the operations of resorts and entertainment venues, as by reducing one or two days, you are drastically cutting down their income," said opposition faction member Taguhi Tovmasyan, addressing the Minister of Economy.

Vahan Kerobyan responded to the lawmakers, stating that "it has crossed his mind to reduce New Year holidays." He added, "It has crossed my mind and the minds of my colleagues and yours a long time ago. This proposal was attempted during Karen Karapetyan's government, but for some reason, it did not succeed.”
