Nearly $300 Billion: Elon Musk Becomes the Richest Person Ever on Forbes List

Tesla's market capitalization surpassed $1 trillion on Monday, resulting in CEO Elon Musk becoming the richest person in history, according to Forbes' estimates. At market close on Monday, Musk's fortune was valued at $271.3 billion, which is roughly $41.7 billion higher compared to the close on Friday.

As noted by the agency, Musk is nearing the $300 billion mark. For comparison, Amazon founder and former CEO Jeff Bezos became the richest person on Forbes' list of America's 400 wealthiest people earlier this month, with a fortune of $201 billion, topping the list.
