KamAZ with Ministry of Defense Plates Hits Pedestrian, Victim Dies in Hospital
Today, October 26, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 15:10, a KamAZ truck hit a female pedestrian on Sebastia Street, near "Yerevan City." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the driver did not flee the scene and assisted in transporting the victim to the "Astghik" Medical Center, where she died shortly after.
Rapid response units from the Yerevan division of the Patrol Service of the Armenian Police, led by battalion commander Levon Badalyan, arrived promptly. The photojournalist reports that since the KamAZ is registered under the Ministry of Defense of Armenia and the driver is a service member, military police officers from the Ministry of Defense also arrived at the scene. They are waiting for investigators from the Military Investigation Department of the Armenian Investigative Committee to arrive.
The Patrol Service and military police are currently identifying the driver and the deceased.
