We Have a Vision of Only Having Border Troops Serving at Our Borders
The preservation of our country's borders continues to be a top priority in a new security environment, and we have set the goal of increasingly carrying out border protection functions through border troops each year, with a vision of only having border troops serve at our borders in the long term, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in parliament today.
'The withdrawal of Azerbaijani armed forces units from our territory, particularly from the Sotk-Khoznavar section, and the initiation of the delimitation and demarcation process at the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan will create favorable conditions for solving this issue,' said Nikol Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister also noted that the defense budget for 2022 is 11 percent higher compared to the 2021 plan, amounting to over 345 billion drams.
