VIDEO: 'Maskless Police Officer Fines Driver for Not Wearing a Mask' - Police Responds to Publication

Auroranews has received footage showing an incident that occurred on Saturday evening in the capital city of Yerevan between a police officer from the Patrol Service and a driver.

As seen in the video, the officer who stopped the driver transporting passengers demands to see the driver's license, stating that the driver is not wearing a mask. The driver refuses to present his documents and demands to know the reason for being stopped, asking what traffic rule he has violated and why the police officers themselves are not wearing masks.

According to the officer, the driver was not wearing a mask and also was not wearing a seatbelt. However, the driver insists that he was wearing his seatbelt and has recorded the entire encounter.

Notably, when the driver claims he was buckled up, the officer retorts that the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Public Relations Department of the Police stated to Auroranews that they would examine the video and the complaint.
