On October 6, police detained a 42-year-old man from the Ararat region, suspected of purchasing, possessing, and dealing drugs, on Saryan Street in Yerevan while driving an Opel vehicle. During the search, more than two grams of opium were found in his possession, as well as packets of the same drug weighing 31 grams and 3.5 grams in his car.
A criminal case was initiated at the Central Division of the police based on the facts, during which operational-investigative measures revealed that the drugs were supplied by a 40-year-old resident of the Ararat region. He was also taken to the Central Division of the police and arrested.
With a decision from the first instance court, officers from the Drug Control Department, the Artashat Division, and the State Revenue Committee conducted a search at the residence of the 40-year-old man. They discovered 24 bullets of various calibers. He has been detained and transferred to a correctional facility. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the circumstances.
