Unidentified Individuals Surround Sudanese Prime Minister's Home, Detain 4 Ministers

In Sudan, Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok has been placed under house arrest as his home has been surrounded, and four ministers along with senior officials from Khartoum have been detained. This news has been reported by Al Hadath television.

It is noted that these actions were carried out by individuals dressed in military uniforms without insignias. The ministers of communication, information, finance, and industry have been arrested, along with the governor of Khartoum and one representative from the country's ruling Sovereign Council. The detentions are ongoing.

Access points to the capital have been closed, and internet and mobile communications have been disrupted.

Since August 2019, Sudan has been governed by a transitional military-civilian administration that has pledged to restore justice for the victims of crimes committed during former President Omar al-Bashir’s rule.

It is worth mentioning that in September, there were reports of an attempted coup in Sudan, where a group of armed individuals tried to seize several key sites near the capital Khartoum. The Sudanese army managed to regain control of the situation and prevent the coup.
