Seven Russian Tourists Arrested in Turkey on Suspicion of Arson
Seven Russian tourists have been arrested in Antalya, Turkey, on suspicion of setting fire to a forest, according to a report by РИА Новости, referencing the general consulate.
The consulate confirmed that on October 23, Turkish law enforcement agencies took the Russian tourists into custody while they were hiking the Lycian Way near Antalya. According to information received from the local gendarmerie office, the seven Russian citizens were detained on suspicion of setting fire to the forest in the Çağlaracay district in 2018.
On the same day, a staff member from the general consulate visited the detainees to clarify the reasons for the arrest of the Russian citizens.
