Government to Allocate 50,000 Drams Monthly from Birth of 3rd Child Until Age 6
The government will allocate 50,000 drams monthly for families from the birth of their third child until the child reaches the age of six, starting from 2022. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during the presentation of the 2022 state budget during a session of the National Assembly.
Pashinyan stated that citizens of Armenia should feel the impact of government initiatives on their daily lives. He indicated that there are good proposals for social programs but emphasized the need for analytical capabilities to modify existing programs and enhance their effectiveness.
“The 2022 budget will change crucial points. According to the pre-election promise, starting from January 1, 2022, and for every third child and subsequent children born, the government will provide financial assistance of 50,000 drams monthly until the child turns six,” said Pashinyan. He expressed that this program would be a significant support for newly formed families and that families with two children will be encouraged to decide on becoming large families.
Pashinyan also noted that the 2022 state budget will not resolve all issues, and many challenges, including social issues, will remain unsolved.
