Earthquake 10 km Northeast of Bavra Village
On October 25, at 16:57 local time (12:57 GMT), the seismic monitoring network of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia registered an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.7. The epicenter was located at geographical coordinates of 41.15° North latitude and 43.92° East longitude, in the border zone between Armenia and Georgia, 10 km northeast of Bavra village, at a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the aftershocks in the epicentral area was assessed to be between 3-4 on the seismic scale. The earthquake was felt in several towns including Gyumri in Shirak Province, and Spitak, Tashir, and Alaverdi in Lori Province, as well as in the villages of Norashen, Sarchapet, and Dzoramut with an intensity of 2-3.
