Will Kindergartens Be Closed? Clarifications from the City Hall

As we have already reported, the Ministry of Health has proposed to postpone school breaks for one week and to conduct university classes remotely due to the epidemic situation in the country.

Regarding kindergartens, Hakob Karapetyan, the press secretary of the Yerevan City Hall, told ArmDaily.am that they will inform the public about any decisions in this regard.

“We are following the instructions of the Ministry of Health and taking actions based on the overall epidemiological situation. If such a decision is made, we will definitely inform everyone,” said Karapetyan.

In response to the question of whether discussions are underway about closing kindergartens, the press secretary noted that such discussions are always ongoing.

“We are always in tune with developments, and decisions are being made based on the situation that arises every day,” said Karapetyan, adding that they will adhere to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

It is worth noting that today 1184 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed: we have 1221 recoveries and 42 deaths. The previous day, 3 deaths were recorded in patients with coronavirus infection, but the causes of death were due to other underlying diseases.
