“Close educational institutions, declare a one-week lockdown,” Naira Zohrabyan

Former MP Naira Zohrabyan writes on her Facebook page: “Almost every day, the number of COVID infections exceeds two thousand. Just yesterday, there were 42 deaths.

No, of course, everyone chooses for themselves whether to get vaccinated or not, whether to live or not, whether to be a cause of their loved ones’ infection and death or not. It is difficult for me, almost impossible, to persuade someone if I do not think so; blaming someone for imposing something or lobbying for something.

I understand that getting vaccinated is, yes, also a risk. But I know that I am responsible for the lives of my relatives and loved ones, who can simply die if they do not have a strong immune system.

After receiving the second dose of the vaccine in June, I got infected with COVID at the end of August. However, I had zero lung damage and a mild course of the disease. Are there cases of infection and death after vaccination? Yes, there can be. However, there is clear statistics: 99.9 percent of deaths are among the unvaccinated.

Why did I decide to speak about this? Quite simply. COVID has reached uncontrollable proportions in Armenia — the hospital bed capacity is exhausted even in remote regions. (Although it is unclear what happened to the VIP hospital rooms in the sports concert complex), people are dying, and people are causing the deaths of their loved ones.

Meanwhile, the oligarch in power, stuffed with cash, gathers hundreds of people at his mega-venue for a party, while the authority terrorizing ordinary citizens does not see the party at the mega-venue.

Why does the citizen not trust vaccination? Because the campaign is conducted at the level of a village club. Because it is not explained to people that even if dying is their choice, causing the deaths of others cannot be their hobby.

I hate making calls, but in this uncontrollable situation, it is urgent to move all educational institutions back to remote learning mode, and if necessary, yes, a lockdown should be declared for some time, and during that time the working citizens should be paid, as is currently done in Russia.

And those who wish to die heroically have, of course, the right to do so, but no one has the right to become the cause of another person's death. That should no longer be their right. And yes, cancel the idiocy of officials' right not to be vaccinated.”
