Attempt to Import 25 Tons of Harmful Potatoes from Turkey to Georgia

Georgian border guards at the "Sarpi" customs checkpoint (Georgia-Turkey border) have prevented a truck loaded with 25 thousand kilograms of potatoes from entering the country. According to a report by Sputnik, this information was revealed in a statement by the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

During a phytosanitary inspection, specialists discovered harmful organisms within the potatoes. Following this, the entire shipment of potatoes was sent back to Turkey.
