Lilit A.
The US State Department has included Russians in its list of 'stateless nations.' This category encompasses citizens from countries with 'unstable political situations.' This information was reported on the agency's website.
'As a rule, a stateless person—essentially someone applying for a visa—is a citizen of a country where the United States does not have a diplomatic representation, or where the political or security situation is sufficiently unstable or uncertain,' the document states. This list also includes citizens from Iran, Cuba, Libya, Syria, and Somalia.
Earlier, it was revealed that the US embassy had suspended the issuance of non-immigrant visas to Russians.
