Ministry of Health Violates Anti-Epidemic Regulations: Irakanum

The Ministry of Health of Armenia has announced a vaccination day today in Yerevan. On October 24, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, mobile vaccination points will be set up in the yard of the Al. Spendiarian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet to provide citizens with the opportunity to get vaccinated on-site.

Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan has also posted a status encouraging citizens to come to Freedom Square.

While the world is experiencing strict restrictions with lockdowns in various countries, the Ministry of Health in Armenia is organizing mass gatherings. Based on the photos circulated, most citizens who came for the vaccination are not wearing masks, and social distancing is not being observed. This has not gone unnoticed by Irakanum.am.

If the ministry's and health sector officials' intentions are genuine, prioritizing public health, mass events should be halted immediately, even if they pertain to vaccinations. At the very least, strict adherence to anti-epidemic regulations should be monitored during the event.
