On October 23, a serious incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 00:30, 17-year-old Artyom Hakobyan, a resident of Yerevan, crashed his unlicensed BMW into parked vehicles on Pushkin Street, including a BMW X5, Mercedes S500, another Mercedes, multiple BMWs, a Toyota Camry, a Volkswagen, and an Opel Astra.

According to shamshyan.com, preliminary information indicates that fortunately, there were no injuries from the crash. In a conversation with a photojournalist, several citizens, who refused to speak on camera, commented, “It was like a movie; we just saw that the unlicensed ‘seven-seater BMW’ was speeding through Pushkin Street as if it were a Makaryan bullet. It didn’t stop and damaged several cars; then it crossed the intersection, and next thing we saw was that fresh policemen had apprehended him, laying him on the asphalt and taking him away. In this case, how can you not say the guys did a good job? If they hadn’t intervened, we’re sure he would have run over those people too.”

The teenager was taken to the central police station, where he underwent a sobriety test, revealing he was at the highest level of intoxication.

Regarding the incident, materials are being prepared at the investigating department of the central police station under the features of hooliganism. The police are working to identify the owners of the damaged vehicles. Representatives from insurance companies also arrived at the scene promptly. Additionally, a patrol service vehicle was damaged as a result of the pursuit.

The BMW involved in the car crash has been moved to a designated secure area by the police.
