MP David Sedrakyan Resigns, Citing Personal Reasons

According to Article 155, Part 1 of the Constitutional Law on the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, MP David Sedrakyan submitted his resignation on October 22.

This was stated in an announcement published on the NA website, which also mentions:

“In accordance with Part 2 of Article 155 of the Constitutional Law on the Rules of Procedure, if the MP withdraws his resignation in writing within a week after the announcement of the resignation, the President of the National Assembly makes a statement about it. If the MP does not withdraw his resignation, a record of the cessation of his powers will be drawn up, which will be signed and published by the President of the National Assembly. From the moment the record is published, the resignation is considered accepted.”

The announcement was signed by Ruben Rubinyan, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly performing the duties of the NA President. It is noteworthy that David Sedrakyan is a member of the “Armenia” faction and has stated that his reasons for resigning are personal.
