Export Opportunities Between Armenia and Iran
A trade delegation specializing in commerce has arrived from Iran to study the obstacles to Iran-Armenia trade cooperation and the export opportunities between the two countries. According to "Armenpress," the Iranian news agency IRNA reported this, citing the trade attaché of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia.
According to a report by Iran's Trade Development Organization, the trade attaché, Akbar Godar, stated that during the visit, a delegation of businesspeople from the polymer and plastic production sector met with Iran's Ambassador to Armenia, Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri, to discuss geopolitical issues, the importance of the Armenian market, laws and regulations, as well as matters related to joint production.
“During the meeting, Iranian entrepreneurs requested that during the organization of exhibitions in Iran, commercial delegations also be sent in coordination with the representations. It was decided to address this matter after the lifting of coronavirus restrictions,” said Akbar Godar.
Meanwhile, the President of the Armenian-Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Herik Yarian, emphasized the necessity of eliminating obstacles in trade development and export sectors during the meeting with the Iranian delegation. According to Herik Yarian, the volume of Armenian-Iranian trade has reached 500 million USD in recent years.
