Erdogan Expels Ambassadors from Ten Countries

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to declare ten ambassadors persona non grata who have called for the release of Osman Kavala, accused by Turkish authorities of involvement in an attempted coup, according to RIA Novosti.

The ambassadors of the United States, France, Germany, Canada, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden are being referenced.

“I have instructed our Foreign Minister to take immediate action to declare these 10 ambassadors persona non grata,” Erdogan said during a speech in Eskişehir.

Earlier, the Anadolu Agency reported that the ambassadors of the U.S., Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Canada, Norway, and New Zealand had been summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ankara.
