11 People Die Due to Heavy Snowfall in the Mountains of India

A group of 17 tourists, along with their guides, went missing in the Uttarakhand state last Monday, October 18. The tourists were crossing the Lamkhaga Pass. Several members of the group managed to reach a shelter where they reported the incident. Search operations began shortly after.

On October 20, Indian military personnel joined the search efforts for the missing individuals. The operations were conducted with the assistance of helicopters. On the morning of October 23, two members of the group were found alive, while 11 others were confirmed dead. The search for four more individuals is ongoing.
