Video: First Footage Released From Factory Explosion in Russia, Death Toll Reaches 16

The death toll from the explosion at a gunpowder factory in the Ryazan region of Russia has risen to 16. This information was reported by an emergency services source to TASS on Friday.

Assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, Alexey Kuznetsov, has confirmed the death toll. “According to preliminary data, by 11:30 Moscow time, 16 people have died as a result of the incident,” he said.

Earlier reports indicated that seven people had initially lost their lives in the explosion at the Elastic factory in the Ryazan region.
