Positions in Gegharkunik Have Been Established That Could Cut Syunik’s Connection to Armenia Within Hours: Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan
Political forces and experts must not hesitate to present the truth to the public, to voice that the conflict is unresolved, and that Azerbaijan has long-term objectives.
“It is necessary to change the public's conformist stance and establish a consciousness of pursuing one’s own rights, both concerning Syunik and Artsakh, as well as on issues pertaining to all of Armenia. People must realize that considering the problem of Syunik separately is incorrect, as Azerbaijan is taking concrete actions to implement its long-term plans. They have established positions in Gegharkunik from where it is possible to cut off the Selim Pass and neutralize Syunik’s connection with Armenia within just a few hours.”
“When we speak as a geopolitical factor regarding the enhancement of Armenia's and Artsakh’s role, our main task should be to show the world that the Armenian people—whether in Artsakh, Armenia, or the Diaspora—have not reconciled with the results of the war, nor have they accepted the reality that is being presented to the world today,” said political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan during a discussion on 'Threats Facing Armenia and Artsakh and Ways to Overcome Them.'
