How to Differentiate Between Flu and COVID-19 Symptoms: WHO Responds
At the same time, receiving vaccines for both coronavirus and flu is safe, according to recent research findings. This was announced by Sylvie Briand, Director of the World Health Organization's Department for Pandemic and Epidemic Diseases. Speaking within the framework of the WHO's 'Science in 5' program, Briand positively responded to the question of whether it is safe to receive vaccines for both coronavirus and flu simultaneously.
“There are several studies that have shown that it is safe to receive both vaccines at the same time; however, it is necessary to consult a doctor about potential contraindications for the application of both vaccines,” the expert stated.
In response to the question of how a person can differentiate between flu and COVID-19 symptoms, the WHO representative stated that typical flu symptoms include fever, headache, and muscle pain, as well as cough and cold.
“In the case of coronavirus, the same symptoms generally appear, but they are joined by a loss of smell and taste. Many people, especially young ones, are faced with additional unique symptoms in the case of COVID-19,” Briand noted.
