Former MP Arrested for Assaulting Citizen 5 Years Ago

This morning, news broke that former MP Janibek Hayrapetyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party has been detained. However, the reason for his arrest was not immediately clear.

According to Hraparak.am, more details have emerged regarding the grounds for the former MP's detention. It turns out that he became involved in a fight in 2016, which led to the initiation of a criminal case against him for assaulting a citizen and causing injury to his eye. Now, five years after the incident, the court has decided to detain Hayrapetyan.
