Are Children's State-Funded Treatments Not Yet Implemented? The Ministry Clarifies the Procedure
There have been regular reports from citizens that state-funded treatments for children have not yet been implemented in healthcare facilities. This was reported by ArmDaily.am.
In a conversation with the media outlet, the head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Health, Lilit Babakhanyan, stated that state-funded treatments are carried out by appointment.
“Planned hospital treatments are carried out by appointment if the funds for state order are limited,” said Babakhanyan.
When asked how urgent surgeries or urgent medical interventions, which need to be carried out under state funding, are regulated, the department head noted that in such cases, no appointment is necessary, and they are performed immediately.
“In emergencies or urgent cases, when the doctor decides they are urgent, such as a ruptured appendix, they are of course carried out with state funding, but planned cases require an appointment,” Babakhanyan explained.
Earlier, we reported on the absence of funds allocated for state-funded treatments. The ministry's press secretary, Hripsime Khachatryan, had informed us that reallocations have been made and are ongoing.
In response to our question about whether the process has been completed, Babakhanyan replied that it is ongoing and will continue until November.
