The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has visited the occupied Kovsakan and discussed his future plans for the region. Referring to the recent meeting of the deputy prime ministers of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia in Moscow, he emphasized that their stance would be reiterated once again.

“A transport and logistics center, a railway hub, highways,” he stated. “You know that during the Soviet years there was no airport in Zangilan. But now, it will not just be an airport; it will be an international airport, and Zangilan will become the center of our country's transport logistics. The Zangezur corridor passes through here, a railway is being constructed, and the Horadiz-Aghbend highway is being built. The recent developments concerning the opening of the Zangezur corridor show that we are getting what we want,” the leader of the opposing country noted.
