Azerbaijan Releases Iranian Drivers Arrested in Syunik

Azerbaijan has released two Iranian truck drivers who were arrested on the Goris-Kapan road. This information was reported by Sputnik Azerbaijan, referencing the State Customs Committee.

According to the announcement, the drivers have already been handed over to Iran.

It is worth noting that since September 9, an Azerbaijani police checkpoint has been established near the village of Vorotan in the Syunik region of the Republic of Armenia, citing that this section of the road belongs to Azerbaijan according to Soviet maps.

From September 11, Azerbaijanis have been demanding exit and entry fees from Iranian trucks.

On September 15, it became known that they had even arrested the drivers of two Iranian trucks, accusing them of illegally transporting goods to Artsakh.
