Arthur Sarkisyan Participates in the 'Armenia' Alliance Council Meeting; Kocharyan Also Present

Arthur Sarkisyan, a Member of Parliament who had been illegally detained for months, has recently been released. Yesterday, a council meeting of the 'Armenia' alliance took place at the central headquarters under the leadership of Robert Kocharyan, in which Arthur Sarkisyan also participated.

It is noteworthy that in none of the Council of Europe's member countries has there been a situation where three opposition members of parliament end up incarcerated without immunity being lifted. While it is important that Arthur Sarkisyan can now objectively exercise his parliamentary mandate after a prolonged illegal detention, we must also emphasize that two other opposition members, Armen Charchyan and Mkhitar Zakaryan, continue to remain unlawfully imprisoned.

Throughout these months, the actions we have undertaken have been and will continue to be ongoing, and we cannot fail to note that these shameful violations are occurring in silence amidst international organizations.
