After a Long Silence, Ankara Demonstrates That the Iran-Azerbaijan Tension Is Not Accidental

Former MP and Azerbaijan expert Tatevik Hayrapetyan wrote on her Facebook page: "Today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that 'due to relations with Israel, Iran cannot easily choose Azerbaijan as a target...' He hinted that there are many 'Azerbaijanis' living in Iran. 'This factor gives us pause for thought. It's not that simple. I believe the new Iranian government will not continue to make that mistake...,' said Erdoğan.

After a long silence, official Ankara demonstrated that the Iran-Azerbaijan tension is not accidental, but rather incited by Turkey and not just Turkey alone, with underlying long-term strategic plans against Iran and not only Iran.

Let me remind you that during last year's military parade in Baku, Erdoğan's couplet clearly articulated territorial claims against the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran's response was not long in coming. Now, it is becoming evident that that couplet was merely a 'prelude' to a much more dangerous process...
