Water Tariff to Remain the Same for Socio-Economically Vulnerable Consumers, While Increasing for Others
The Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has proposed to keep the water tariff unchanged for socio-economically vulnerable consumers, while increasing it by 20 drams for other consumers. Garegin Baghramyan, the chairman of the PSRC, stated this during a conversation with reporters in parliament.
Currently, the existing tariff is 180 drams, and it is now proposed to be increased to 200 drams. The PSRC chairman mentioned that there is a group of socio-economically vulnerable consumers for electricity and gas, comprising around 100,000 subscribers. They are now suggesting to create a similar group for those using water services.
"This means we propose not to change the price at all for socio-economically vulnerable consumers, while for the remaining consumers, we suggest no longer restraining the prices with budgetary rental payments. The aim is to have a stable pricing policy for just 10 years," said Garegin Baghramyan.
