Two More Arrested in Connection with Methanol Poisoning Deaths in Yekaterinburg

Two more individuals have been arrested in Yekaterinburg in connection with the sale of surrogate alcohol. According to Говорит Москва, the suspects are of Georgian and Azerbaijani descent.

A source from the regional emergency services informed ТАСС that they are suspected of selling counterfeit alcohol alongside previously detained Armen Avetisyan and Nadir Mamedov.

Security forces have removed over 10 tons of counterfeit alcohol from circulation following the deaths of 26 individuals due to methanol poisoning. Avetisyan and Mamedov reportedly sold methanol from October 7 to 14 at a local market.

A criminal case has been initiated for the sale of products that resulted in the unintentional death of two or more people.
