Transfer of position has clearly passed under Azerbaijani control: Head of the community of Chakateni on Paylasar

According to Ara Harutyunyan, the head of the Chakateni village in the Syunik region, the situation in Chakateni is currently normal, and the border troops are carrying out their duties properly.

"At this moment, the danger threatens the whole country; there is a threat, but the situation here is normal for now, we will see what happens next," said Ara Harutyunyan in an interview with 168.am.

Regarding the Vorotan section of the Goris-Kapan road, where the enemy has set up a police checkpoint, the village head stated that he has not used that road during this time and has opted for an alternative route.

"This alternative road is somewhat acceptable for passenger vehicles, but it is very difficult for trucks. Winter is approaching, and it will be, to put it mildly, impassable," he noted.

When asked how they would use that road if someone from the village urgently needed first aid and required transportation to the hospital, Ara Harutyunyan responded, "We have a nurse in the village; there have been cases in the lower villages where they called for an ambulance, and it arrived. At this moment, that road is open, and we go, but I am talking to you now, and I don’t know what could happen there. The danger is present at any moment; I am using that road not because it is convenient but for safety reasons. It is safer to go via Vorotan, but it is dangerous."

Regarding Paylasar, the Chakateni village head mentioned that he does not have specific information but is aware that there has been a relocation of Russian troops.

"There has been a transfer of position that has clearly passed under Azerbaijani control; that entire area is now under enemy observation, where previously the Russian side could monitor better. I do not know if it was handed over just like that or what happened, one thing is clear: the Russians are not stationed there," concluded the head of the Chakateni community.

It is noteworthy that on May 12, the enemy breached the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, advancing several kilometers into the areas of Syunik and Gegharkunik, and they remain in the territories they have advanced to this day without retreating. Several rounds of negotiations have been held in Syunik to convince the enemy to withdraw, but to no avail. The heads and residents of adjacent villages report that enemy soldiers advanced with some maps and insist they received orders from their superiors to proceed, as they consider these territories to be Azerbaijani.

It is also important to recall that following the 44-day war in Artsakh, when Nikol Pashinyan signed a document surrendering 75 percent of Artsakh, which did not include any points regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, under the tacit agreement of Pashinyan and the Minister of Defense, all advantageous positions of Syunik and Gegharkunik were also handed over to the enemy, resulting in several villages simply coming under enemy fire.
