Suspect Arrested for Arson in Dalara Village Linked to Murder

Through operational-search measures implemented by the Criminal Police Department of the Republic of Armenia, the Ararat Regional Department of Police, and the Artashat Division of Police, on October 18, a resident of Dalara village in the Ararat region, 31-year-old Gor Petrosyan, voluntarily presented himself to the Artashat Division of Police.

According to Shamshyan.com, he is a suspect in the arson case of the home belonging to his fellow villager, Sergey Simonian, which took place on October 16, following the murder of Vardan Petrosyan, Grigor Petrosyan, and others. A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of the third section of Article 185 of the RA Criminal Code.

According to information from a photojournalist, the owner of the house that was set on fire had killed a fellow villager that day, who was related to G. V. and G. Petrosyan. The Petrosyans are respected figures in the village and have never been involved in any criminal history, and they took this drastic step after learning who had murdered their relative.

G. Petrosyan was presented to the Ararat Regional Investigation Department from the Artashat Division of Police, where he was arrested by the investigator's decision.
