Proposal Made in Latvia to Call for COVID Vaccination in Russian

A proposal has been made in Latvia to eliminate linguistic requirements and to call on residents to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in Russian. This was reported by the Sputnik Ближнее зарубежье Telegram channel.

According to the report, a representative from the country's Ministry of Health has approached the government with this suggestion. It is noted that approximately 35% of the population speaks Russian. However, until now, all information regarding the coronavirus and vaccines in Latvia has been published exclusively in Latvian.

Recently, the country took the first place in the world for the weekly incidence of coronavirus. A curfew has been established along with a “strict lockdown.”
