Drills in the Berdzor Area Are Not Coincidental, They Are Very Close to the Peacekeeping Forces: Tatevik Hayrapetyan
Tatevik Hayrapetyan, a former MP from the My Step alliance and an expert on Azerbaijan, wrote on her Facebook page:
“Yesterday, the Azerbaijani side began new military exercises in the Berdzor area. The official statement only mentions that ‘the purpose of the exercises is to check the interaction of ground and other troops using modern management methods.’ There is no information about the number of personnel involved in the drills and their planned duration. I would like to remind that all of this is being carried out in areas very close to the deployment of the Russian peacekeeping forces. In September, a joint Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercise also took place in the Berdzor area.
There is no shortage of Turkish-Azerbaijani joint military exercises in the region, with over fifty exercises conducted in the last ten months. In my opinion, the activation in the Berdzor area is not coincidental, considering that after the war, the Berdzor corridor is the only vital route connecting Armenia and Artsakh. Our adversarial neighbors continue to prepare for the implementation of various scenarios, certainly also considering the use of force to achieve their strategic goals. This is their proposed ‘peace’.”
