CEO of Rosatom to Visit Armenia to Discuss Prospects for New Nuclear Plant

The CEO of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev, is set to visit Armenia in early November. This information was confirmed to Sputnik Armenia by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, which oversees the energy sector.

According to the preliminary agenda for the visit, Likhachev and his delegation will arrive in the first days of November. During the visit, discussions will focus on the renovation process of the Metsamor Nuclear Power Plant, the possibilities for extending the plant's service life after 2026, as well as the prospects for the construction of a new plant.

Meetings between the Rosatom leader and Armenia's top leadership are also planned.
