British Scientists Discover More Infectious Variant of Covid-19

Scientists in the United Kingdom have announced the spread of a more contagious variant of the coronavirus than the Delta strain, reports the Financial Times.

According to experts from the Sanger Institute in Cambridge and the UCL Genetics Institute, the new variant AY.4.2 may be 10-15% more infectious.

At the same time, the country's health ministry stated that there is no evidence to classify the new variant of the coronavirus as particularly dangerous.
