Russia Ready to Develop Military Relations with Iran, Shoigu Says
Russia is ready to maintain the dynamic and multifaceted nature of its military cooperation with Iran. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu during a meeting in Moscow with Mohammad Bagheri, chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, on October 19, according to rg.ru.
"Our relations are evolving very dynamically and in a multifaceted manner. A vivid confirmation of this is our joint struggle against international terrorism. We are ready to continue making every effort to maintain the momentum of developing our relations," said Shoigu.
The minister recalled that Russia and Iran are actively countering international terrorism in Syria. He also reminded the Iranian general that the defense ministries of the two countries have a rich program of joint activities planned for 2021 and proposed to discuss the most significant issues of cooperation in the military sector.
