Violations Identified in Meat Sales Market
The State Food Safety Inspection Body of Armenia continues its intensified inspections across the country's fresh meat sales network, verifying the slaughterhouse origin of the meat being sold.
During joint inspections conducted by the specialists from the veterinary department of the inspection body, inspectors from Yerevan Center, as well as from the Ararat and Armavir regional centers, 41 inspections were carried out in 8 communities of Ararat Province, including the cities of Ararat, Artashat, Vedi, and Masis, and in 6 communities of Armavir Province, including the cities of Ejmiadzin and Armavir.
At the facilities of 8 operators in Ararat Province and 6 in Armavir Province, it was found that the veterinary certificate confirming the slaughterhouse origin of the meat and meat products was not presented. The sale of all batches of non-slaughterhouse-origin meat in those shops (approximately 311 kg in Ararat and approximately 510 kg in Armavir) has been halted and is subject to destruction or removal.
