Shooting in Abovyan: Ex-Husband Shoots at Wife

On October 16, gunfire was reported in the Kotayk region. Operational information was received by the Kotayk police department regarding gunshots originating from building 44 in the 3rd microdistrict of Abovyan city.

According to shamshyan.com, inspectors from the juvenile affairs division, taking necessary operational measures, established that on the aforementioned day at around 4:30 PM, Vazgen Mikayelyan, a 43-year-old resident of the same microdistrict, shot in the direction of 39-year-old Lyudmila A. during a dispute over personal matters, using a firearm he possessed.

According to reports, she sustained an injury to her left thigh. The electrical lamp at the entrance was also damaged as it was broken.

Inspectors from the juvenile affairs division quickly located Vazgen M., and during a personal search, they found the firearm in his possession.

In connection with the incident, materials are being prepared at the investigation department of the Kotayk police. According to reports, Vazgen M. and Lyudmila A. are former spouses and are employed at one of the LLCs, with Vazgen M. working as an operator and Lyudmila A. as a quality controller.
